In advance of the moratorium on non-emergency construction lane closures between Memorial Day and Labor Day to alleviate summer-time traffic congestion, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is working to complete several projects on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Motorists should prepare for closures as crews perform work along PCH The work is for traffic improvements that will realign PCH to accommodate turn lanes, and update traffic signals, crosswalks, curb ramps and sidewalks in the Civic Center area. UPDATE - Additional work is scheduled at the intersections of PCH and Webb Way/Stuart Ranch Road and Civic Center Way beginning in mid-April which will include lane closures, with some work scheduled at night when possible. NEW - Thursday, April 19, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM - The westbound #2 lane of PCH will be closed near Malibu Pier Thursday April 19 and Friday April 20, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM for equipment maintenance.įriday, April 20, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM - The eastbound #2 lane of PCH will be closed at Tuna Canyon on Thursday April 19 and Friday April 20, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM for equipment maintenance. ![]() SOCAL EDISON MAINTENANCE WORK - PCH NEAR MALIBU PIER AND TUNA CANYON ![]() The work is part of a $2.2 million project to replace pavement on travel lanes, asphalt on the shoulders and add new shoulder delineation lines on sections of PCH from Cross Creek to Ventura County line. Caltrans contractors are conducting the work at night to reduce traffic impact. At least one lane in each direction will be open at all times. UPDATE - Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM - Caltrans will close the #2 lanes on westbound and eastbound PCH from Cross Creek Road to Morning View Drive in Malibu.
